Welcome
Clinical and forensic psychologist Elizabeth Critz Schockmel, Psy.D., has focused her practice on the completion of court-ordered evaluations involving children and families for more than 25 years. While the majority of her work entails comprehensive, objective assessments relevant to issues of custody and parenting time, Dr. Schockmel also has significant experience with cases pertaining to allegations of abuse and neglect, permanency planning for children in foster care, and termination of parental rights proceedings.
Dr. Schockmel is recognized for the individualized attention and time she affords family members referred for evaluation. From her Albany office, she has provided forensic services to families and judges across New York State. In addition to court-directed assessments, Dr. Schockmel consults with attorneys, locally and regionally, on custody cases and associated concerns. She is a longstanding faculty member with the Third Judicial Department's Office of Attorneys for Children, and a regular presenter at trainings for matrimonial and family law practitioners, as well as judicial conferences. In addition to her court-related work, Dr. Schockmel maintains a psychotherapy practice.
